The g7+ Secretariat team led by its General Secretary, Dr. Helder da Costa met Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, H.E. Adaljiza Magno on 21 December 2021. Dr. Helder Da Costa extended the appreciation for the continued political and financial support from the Government of Timor-Leste to the work of g7+ since its inception.

Dr. Helder da Costa shared the update on the work of g7+ and  H.E. Minister Adaljiza Magno reiterated the commitment of government and people of Timor-Leste to the principles and mission of g7+.  Minister Magno also shared some suggestions on how best to adapt the work of g7+ to the recent global discourse such as climate change and fragility. Minister Magno advised that the g7+ Headquarters should also engage with the sovereign institutions of Timor-Leste and keep them posted of the progress made by the secretariat.

Both Minister and General Secretary also discussed the Agreement between the Government of Timor-Leste and the g7+ which is accordingly in the final stage and ready to be presented to the Council of Ministers by the Minister before signing in early 2022.
