High-Level Side Event of the 71st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) 2016.

“Peer-Learning among Fragile and Conflict-Affected Countries on Sustaining Peace and Sustainable Development”.

Co-Chaired by the Republic of Kenya (Chair of the Peacebuilding Commision) and Sierra Leone (Chair of the g7+).

Date : Friday, 23 September 2016.

Time : 1:15pm – 2:30pm

Venue : Conference Room 11, United Nation HQ, New York.

The meeting will offer a platform for various conflict-affected countries and countries emerging from conflict to share experiences, particularly g7+ countries experiences, within the framework of national ownership, best practices and possibilities for mutual investment under the g7+ Peer Learning and Fragile-to-Fragile Cooperation mechanisms. The debate will aim at identifying opportunities to assist countries to overcome fragility in order to move towards sustainable peace and development. The event will also focus on how best to achieve the goals of the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development in conflict-affected countries.
